Door Handle Not Flush

This morning the rear passenger door handle was frozen shut. A gentle tug released it however.

Since then though the handle won't sit flush with the door again. It still operates the door fine, but if you try and push it flush it feels like there is something behind stopping it going back.

You can press it all the way but it doesn't stay there and pops back out by about 1cm.

I am trading the car in in a months time so don't want to expend too much time/money but would like it to at least look OK.

Any ideas?
