My biggest problem is that the tow bar extends towards the front of the car and ends in a t shaped section. This section is directly under the well which contains the spare wheel. There does not appear to be any way of securing the tow bar here. I believe I have been sent the wrong tow bar but the seller insists it was taken off a laguna estate. Does anybody have any idea if I am missing something here ??
I had a towbar like this on one of my Lagunas. It does, indeed, bolt to the bottom of the spare wheel well. You need to drill the holes yourself to do it, as it's not an official mounting point. These towbars are generally fine as long as you don't tow twin axle trailers.

The bad news is that this towbar almost certainly isn't 'type approved', which would make it illegal to fit on any UK car of S registration or later. If your car is a 1998 R reg or earlier, then you're legal to use it. If it's a 1998 S reg or later, then you will be breaking the law just by fitting the bar (you don't even have to be towing to be 'done' if your car is inspected, and as the towbar is now supposed to be part of the MOT, I expect that the bar would be a fail.)
