Scenic headlight bulbs - anti-UV type
Just wondered if any Scenic owners have had experience of using "Anti-UV" type headlight bulbs?
My Scenic 2002 User Manual says I should always use Anti-UV type headlamp bulbs when replacing a blown bulb. The implication is that the plastic front of the headlight will be "damaged!" if I don't!
Is this just to make sure you buy any replacement bulbs from Renault or is it really true?
I did investigate, & you can buy anti-UV rated bulbs from various sources - but they tend to be more expensive than the "normal" types. Am I being cynical when I wonder if there really is a difference?
Anyone out there with headlight plastic fronts "damaged" by UV bulbs?
Personally, I would have thought that the UV light the headlamp plastic was subjected to by being stood out in the sun all day was far more than from a bulb.
