New Brakes Grinding
A question for the experts if I may.
I've just fitted a new set of front brake pads and discs to the wife's car - a 2006 1.2 Campus Sport Clio
It's the first time I've changed the whole lot myself but I'm pretty mechaincally minded and everything seemed to go smoothly and fit where it should.
Then when she's taken it out to the shop the brakes are really grinding when you apply pressure the foot pedal, and when you take your foot off, you can still hear it! (not as badly though)
The brakes still seem to work though.
Any ideas as to what I may have done wrong?
Could they just need time to bed in? I've never heard them make a noise like that before (unless they're really worn down and you're talking metal on metal!)
The only thing I know I didn't do (which perhaps I should have done) is apply some copper based anti-squeal grease when I put the new stuff on. Could that be it?
Thanks in advance!
