Re: Keycard - Card broken/faulty - Dead Battery - Emergency Entry *With Pics*

First of all: Have you checked the battery in the card? The transponder chip for starting the engine does not require internal battery power, but the remote locking and unlocking buttons do.

Secondly: Do the buttons on the bad card feel the same as the buttons on the good card? If you don't have a positive click, then the switch may have come loose inside. This is a very common problem with the Renault key cards. Do a forum search for 'keycard repair' and you should turn up details of a few people offering repair services.

Thirdly: If the battery is good and the switches seem fine, it might be time to bite the bullet and buy a new card. This is something that's best done while you still have one working card. Though check with the key card repair people first, as some might do circuit as well as button repairs.
