Red face Re: Renault Laguna 2 - Engine Undertray Bolts

NS Thomson reckons not to take off the tray if you can help it.
Its not possible to change the oil without taking it off
or many other under car work obviously at the front.
One also suspects that there are clips onto the chassis, these then secure the bolts. (hardly likely the chassis is drilled & tapped with a threads).
Yesterday on my Megane I found three 10 mm screws at the front , one either side, plus two at the rear of the tray.
Note again no mention in Haynes book.
TIP:- When replacing - Only loosely attach the front bolts first , clip in the sides that holds it up. Then screw side bolts (loosely), screw in the back bolts. Finally tighten up alround.
The tendency is to tighten up as you go along - but then all the bolts will probably not line up. One thing to
watch, all have a large washer to retain the plastic tray.
