There is always a danger of making the dent more noticeable, if you don't know what you're doing.

A phrase which makes me cringe is when a (potential) client says "Oh, I had a 'go' myself, but now I'm calling you..."

Which usually means if they'd called me in the first place - it would be fine, but now it looks like the seven hills of Rome, and I need to fix their mess, plus the original dent.

Post a pic, and I can give you a definitive answer.
