Re: '04 Scenic - to buy or not to buy!

Well, I bit the bullet as it were! I bought a 2004 Scenic with 65000 miles and the 1.5 dci engine for 4000 inc our '99 Polo as a trade in.

The faults he raised before we asked were the new dash display, heater only working on 1 or 3 and the new turbo he'd just fitted.

As part of the deal he'd also sort out the radio code, fit a new resistor pack, get the right rear window working and fit a new timing belt kit.

The only real issue was an oil leak from the driver's side of the engine. It was pretty major, but we discussed it and agreed it appeared to be coming from the turbo area. We reckoned a turbo oil pipe or similar had not been sealed properly. It's only done 200 miles since the new turbo , so I'm a bit suspicious, anyway it's part of the deal to be fixed.

Hopefully, I haven't bought a pig in a poke.....

We're looking forward to our 'new' Renault!!

PS: anyone got a spare load bay retractable cover in cream?
