Re: Renault Clio 1.4 8v - Info on starting problems - HELPFUL!

Bit of a puzzle as to how the radio would think there has been no power and drop the code. Does the car still start after this has happened?
Perhaps the radio fuse is suspect or loose in it's socket?

------Do you get any alternator warning lights at all?
If the battery is relatively new, yes it may fail. Have the battery and alternator checked professionally if you are not sure.
------One way to check at home yourself is if you can get hold of a volt meter, check the power of the battery with everything turned off. Should be over 12.5v+ for a healthy battery. Turn on all lights and see what the volts drop to. If they drop to around 10v, there is a problem.
Next step, leave volt meter connected and start the car, leave lights off and see what the volts read at idle then rev the car to about 2500rpm(may need help to do this) and see if the volts rise up to about 14 or so. If they don't rise at all by 2500rpm then the alternator is likely stuffed, causing the battery to lose charge when you drive.
