Re: Noisy Scenic Roof Bars
Have recently installed genuine Renault Roof bars on my 2005 scenic, there appears to be like a whistling noise coming from bars whilst driving in excess of say 60 mph, upon closer inspection it appears there is a small gap of approx. 3/4mm between the base of the roof clamp and the roof of the car, I can only imagine the wind is passing through this said gap and causing the whistling noise.
I know roof bars generate some noise but surely this is a design flaw? Are there products on the market to alleviate this - say spacer/mounts/covers etc....
Yep another renault design flaw....I have just put mine on and noticed the gap, I am going to try to make four rubber gaskets to fit between the roof and the flange to see if that makes a difference.
