Maybe some excessive play somewhere in the drive train. Prop shaft UJs or centre bearings perhaps. Don't believe what you read in forums - centre bearings can be replaced - I am in the process of replacing them on the prop shaft of my Trekka using cheap Merc W123 centre bearings costing 24 pounds each.

Photo shows Trekka propshaft split in way of a joint. Spline is an interference fit. Merc centre bearing need be shimmed where it fits onto the body of the car. Bearing itself is 2.5 mm narrower than original so have to be shimmed using a 30 mm ID x 38 mm OD x 2.5 mm wide spacer on one side.
