BMW's (in particular the E36 3 -series) have this issue too. It does happen naturally, but there are two ways to cure this:
Get some foil and apply the shiny side to the outside of the headlight lens, remove the bulb covers and leave the lights on main beam as per Paul's post, but keep the engine running whilst you do this otherwise you could end up with a flat battery!
Or, put some silica gel (those white packets you get every time your Missus buys a handbag or shoes) and put one of them inside each headlight.
Alternatively, i have also found that running the car minus the bulb covers also works, although I don't drive it in the rain!
