Done mine myself today at a cost of 50 for the parts. I would never pay a garage all that money just for a service. Having my cam belt done next month and had a quote for 200. That's something I won't do myself. As for Renault to test it electronically of course Haynes is going to say that because Renault pay them to say it, so they can make more money from the little people, us. I have never had a problem with a cam belt before because it hasn't been electronically tested. Why do people let them get away with it?
