Talking Re: Scenic Petrol cap cover fallen off!!!

hi and welcome to the forums

yes you can do it, but you will need to find a similar scenic (at a screp yard) to take the entire filler unit off.

did you break the filler cap hidged bracket? or just the cap cover? cap covers are usually clipped on.

to replace the hinged braket and inner flap cover you will need to take the entire filler unit off as its pinned between the metal panel and the filler unit.

this will require removal of rear wheel, then splash guard, disconection of big jubilee clips on the bottom where the tank connects to the bottom of the filler unit.
a replacement filler hose kit might be a good idea, they are about 25 from renault.
undo the 2 bolts clamping the filler to the inner wing, the screws in the top at the filler flap and it should with some tugging come free and out.
there will be a air breather pipe or 2 on the filler unit, disconnect them.
top filler cover is screwed or bolted on. once you have clear access to the top of the arch you will see how its fixed on.

refitting is pretty much reverse of above. which is what i went through on my laguna 1, scenic should be about the same.

Spare parts available for 2001 Scenic 1.9Dci, 97 Lag1, 02 Lag2.
