Renault Clio - Headlight restoration
I don't know if anyone with an older car has suffered from the oxidised headlight scenario?
You know where there is a yellowy / slightly green tinged substance that forms over the headlights making them really cloudy??
Well, this had started on this little car, albeit just a little, but, enough to take the look off the car, so I decided to try and do sumthin about it.......
I used a combination of Autosol polish and T cut and a polisher. Applied the products to the headlight and then let the polisher do its thing, keeping the headlights lubricated with a little water here n there then applying more product. Around 20 - 30 mins on each one brought them back to as good as new and clear as a bell
This can also be done by hand but will take a little longer and need some elbow grease thrown into the mix!
You can also, I believe, use wet n dry sandpaper starting at say 800 grit, followed by 1500, 2000 and then 2500/3000 keeping it well lubricated. Wash it off then follow up with a good rubbing compound / polish to finish.......well worth the effort for good vision at night to aid safe driving as well as the look of the car
