Re: Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Electric Window Problems - Regulator Repairs
Have just been through this with my Laguna Estate. I bought the kit from
(about £20) which needed the cable to be sized and cut to length (!) - excellent quality package, BUT with mine the pulley wheel was quite damaged at the point where one of the cables anchors and after only a couple of uses the cable popped off.
So I bit the bullet and bought a replacement regulator w/o motor from an excellent seller on
who specialises in these for all the main manufacturers for £37. Took me half an hour to fit (including taking door apart and re-fitting. Well worth the extra expense.
Fro anyone thinking of using the repair kit I would advise checking that the pulley wheel is not too damaged as it's hard to find these for sale anywhere.
As far as the door handle/opening cable goes - I managed to re-attach this with no problem both times - I just held the door handle in the closed position and clipped the cable attachment back on to the back of the door panel (it unclips really easily), checked it worked and then refitted the rest of the bits and pieces.
good advice from NicolaH to check your pulley before ordering cable repair kits.
i just got my cables from
, they were already cut to size and ready to fit but upon inspection i noticed the the guides in my pully were very badly worn. i still fit them but after a coulpe of up and down movements of the window it jammed half open.
will now have to buy the pulley if i can find one somewhere or just buy the full kit again from the suggested seller.
definately check the condition of your pulley first or just order the kit from turkey that comes with the pulley coz its cheaper anyway.
skint renault laguna 2 owner after spending nearly £2000 on it.
