whether or not your car is under the makers warranty you do not have to go to the main dealer for servicing, in your case Renault. You can use an independent garage for your servicing providing they are VAT registered, use approved Renault parts and fluids and service your vehicle in accordance to the makers guidelines. Your warranty will not be voided. An independent specialist though will not be able to provide any software updates, which only the main dealer can provide free of charge so you could go to an independent garage for your service and then ring up your local Renault dealer and get the software updates free of charge. I would ring up other Renault main dealers and compare prices. Your local Renault dealer may match or beat another dealer who is cheaper.
