So basically, a potential buyer would have to look at the Renault database in order to find out about the work, unless you were up front with them about it. I don't see that there's any need for you to be up front about it if the car has been modified by Renault to bring it up to standard.
Firstly: How many people check the manufacturer's database before purchasing a second-hand car? Secondly: How many people would be put off by the fact that the car had a fault which has since been repaired? Most second-hand cars will have had some faults at some time in their existence.
I'd have a good look at the Sale of Goods act if I were you. I'm sure there's something in there about the possibility of a deduction being made for the amount of time and use you've had out of the item that you're returning.
