Re: neleh needs a new motor

We have a 2009 Fiesta ( new shape).
It is the 1.6tdci - £20 pa road tax, we average 60mpg.

In the 18 mths we have had it it has been impeccably behaved, have not been back to the garage once, not even for any niggles.
1st service was £120 from the main dealer.

It appears well built, some of the plastics are a bit hard. Upper dash materials are a lot better.
Stereo with voice activated control & bluetooth, USB & mp3 point are very good, sound quality good.
Very little wind noise at motorway speeds, road noise only an issue with poor road surfaces.

Plenty of rear seat space and boot is reasonable. In fact the main passenger area of the car is just as big as a Focus, just the boot is smaller. Seats dont fold flat, only seat backs fold down. Not an issue for us though as , like you it is our second car. When we want the space we use the Laguna.

Engine is a bit noisy when cold but once warmed up is fairly quiet.

Heater is effecient, lights good for standard halogen ones, heated windscreen great for the icy mornings.

There have been reports of buckled alloys due to the pot holes etc - but bear in mind that a lot are owned by young people that race around.
Looking at the Fiesta forums a lot are people with the 17" upgraded alloys and the Zetec S models who are also into blue headlights, upgrading speakers, exhausts etc.

If you want any other info, let me know.
