How to Communicate Important Things To Your Garage?

I'm interested in how forum members communicate important things to their garage/dealer, such as complaints, inportant instructions about your pride-and-joy, and other matters?

My local dealer seems very hesitant giving me an email address, but they've somewhat let me down recently, so I contacted them by fax about it, as it's quicker than post. They always phone back though, so nothing is on record from their perspective. And when I first took my car in, I faxed them a brief summary of its history, as they needed to be aware of certain things.

Hopefully I'm not acting like a weirdo, as I just like things to be official, so to speak, especially when lots of money can be involved!
