Re: Megane or Scenic or BOTH?

To be fair Renault only dropped the "Megane" name on the MkII version of this MPV as they wanted to make the vehicle a car in its own right. All vehicles from '98 "R" to '02 "52" tend to be referred to as "Megane Scenics" as they were eniterly based on the Megane (MkI Phases 1 and 2) range of cars. Horatio makes a valid point though about some trade literature simply referring to them all as "Scenics" now and prefer to go on age, engine and vehicle type codes for most parts requests but there are always facetious people like me knocking about waiting to pounce

The "Scenic" II and III are, in there own rights totally independent models now but whilst they share much of the same parts; engines, switch gear and styling they're far from based upon the hatch and salon model Meganes anymore.
