Re: Fuel pump won't seal in the tank
Under no circumstances use silicon or any sealant for that matter - it'll end up in your fuel system with dire consequences.
What tools did you use to remove the old one and for how much time elapsed between removal and fitting.
The ring should easily screw home by hand and only require a slight tighten. It may be the tank has deformed out of shape - not an unknown problem with modern plastic tanks I'm afraid.
Standard hammer and screwdriver to remove and re fit , and have really tightened it up with no joy thinking its a seal problem more than anything else .
yes i have heard of the tank deforming but to be honest i cant see it happening , unless the fact that its a full tank deforming the rim . maybe worth draining the tank do you think ?
