Each end of the 'track' has rubber stops to dampen a hard stop for the runner...one of these may have been dislodged (thus causing your slider to go right off the rails in the first place) These stops are a simple interference fit only. The software reset, as I described, is simply to reset the window action to continuous- without the reset the window jerks only in time with switch usage: on/off. So, if you have no response other tnan 12v direct I suggest switch or, the logic of your cable winding.
