Re: Renault Scenic - Replacing The Manual Gearbox Oil

I was looking into replacing the oil in the wifes Scenic and thought the 3.1 litres Halfords quoted was quite a bit but see that's it's probably right then! Why they can't put this information in the hand book or even the Haynes manual is beyond me

I see mention of a whine in a post above that is noticable in 4th gear only, now, I get a whine under harsh(er) acceleration in 1st gear and very occasionally in 2nd gear. At first I thought the noise sounded like air being forcably sucked into something as it appeared to be coming from the drivers side of the dash/engine bay area??

I shall change the gearbox oil and see if that cures it, failing that I've just rectified some noises on the Scoob that I thought was the gearbox and now I gotta start worrying about the Scenics

Currently in scatz's garage:
2004 Subaru Legacy GT Spec B, a 2013 2.0 TDCi Titanium X Sport S-Max and a 2001 Honda NSR125R
