Re: Espace MK3 'Inner' trackrod ball joint
Thanks Donald, your right, it is a tight space. The ball joint only screws onto the rack but it has a spring washer locking system. I can see how it can be fitted easily whilst on the vehicle but imagine difficult to remove from the rack in the first place. There are no flats on the ball joint for a spanner or such so I wonder how you turn it to un-screw it from the rack.
Yeah thats why i gave it to my local garage
it only turned out to be £17 for the part plus 1 hrs labour plus vat
..i think all in it was around £67,
They could of loosened the bolts on the rack so it makes space?? but thats just a guess,
Iam not sure what they used or use to hold it in place while they unscrew the tie-rod itself
although i wouldn't worry to much about the part your removing as it being replaced so don't worry about damaging it by holding it with some form of grips,
Iam sure another member might help out soon?
