Yeah thats why i gave it to my local garage it only turned out to be £17 for the part plus 1 hrs labour plus vat..i think all in it was around £67,

They could of loosened the bolts on the rack so it makes space?? but thats just a guess,

Iam not sure what they used or use to hold it in place while they unscrew the tie-rod itself although i wouldn't worry to much about the part your removing as it being replaced so don't worry about damaging it by holding it with some form of grips,

Iam sure another member might help out soon?
