Re: Renaults 5 star saftey, is it really that safe?

on a lot of those pics (1&6 are same car different angles), they are taken from the continent.

there are a lot more drivers flouting the speed limits and road conditions can be worse than the UK.

also you have to contend with 50tonne trucks driven by drunks and idiots, it doesnt matter what car you have, if you go head to head with a fully loaded HGV you are only going to win if your driving a TANK, and even then your gonna suffer some bumps and bruises from bouncing around the inside from the impact.

in pic2 the fire services have chopped the car up to get whats left of the driver and occupants out, which is why it looks more of a mess, though the HGV (in the background) that hit it looks a bit banged up as well, considering how much of the laguna it tore up.(if you look you can see the laguna ripped the LHS front wheel off and tore up the cab a fair bit, which is why most of the drivers side of the laguna is missing.)
i wonder who was in the wrong in that accident?

dont forget, a lot of the eastern european countries give thier drivers licences away in cornflak packets, so those drivers have lower awareness and respect for both the car they are driving, other road users and road conditions.:loser:
