Re: 2002 Scenic 1.9 dCi
I'm on shift today so thought I'd spend a bit of time this morning finding the
valve and as it turns out it was really easy! I thought I'd post a pic for anyone who wanted to know where it is on a 2002 Scenic 1.9 dCi
Of course in the pic is where it used to be but you can see it's right next to the airbox.
A good guide on YouTube suggested loosening the bolts first then tapping with dowel. This seemed to be a good tip as it did take some wiggling to get out.
Below is the valve after a bit of a clean with petrol. Unfortunately I didn't take one of the condition it was in at removal stage but it was black with soot. Not what I would have said to be clogged or sticky..
Noel, does this sound about right for what you'd call a dirty valve?
As for solving my dead spot on the accelerator at low revs.. it seems to have improved. There doesn't seem to be the same amount of lag as before so I'm happy with that. Maybe I'm just not used to driving a diesel yet?!
