Yes it seems many so-called national garage outlets deliberately set out to exploit the gullible motorist. I wonder if they have training days for such. I can just imagine such a session titled "How to turn a £50 job into a £500 one"

Yet in some ways the public have no-one to blame but themselves as they tend to take what they have been told on face value without asking for reasons or evidence. It's possible they may not have the technical knowledge or skills to understand the explanation but sometimes just asking or querying is enough to make a big difference.

Imagine if they went to the doctor and were given medication and then swallowed it but aren't given the reason why.
