Re: Beep when I select first or reverse. Laguna III
Whenever you select reverse gear you will always get a brief "bep" to confirm that the sensors are on & ok. It will then stop beeping if you are not close enough to an object to trigger them, it will only beep again as you approach an object. If, however, you get a long continuos beep on selecting reverse it indicates a fault.
You do not normally get a beep on selecting 1st gear though, only when front sensors detect an object.
The tone is different depending on whether it is front or rear sensors that have been triggered.
How old is your car? Is it brand new?
Ours is a 2010 model, built in Feb 2010 - if yours is newer it may be something renault have altered in the software.
Other than that - do you get any warning lights or messages at all on the screen.
The electronic handbrake alarm is very high pitched, but that comes with an in your face message & red warning light.
