Re: Megane II Throttle Style Handbrake EXPOSED

The answer is Yes, it is the same as the 2006 Megane. I have just peeled back the leather on the handbrake and removed the front cover and it is the same as the photos.

I found that the self tapping screw was coming loose and therefore was not putting the little clip into the ratchet teeth. Once the screw was tightened, the clip would hold in the teeth of the ratchet ok. Job sorted.

My only concern is that the self tapping screw, when tightening, keeps turning and seems to be a bit small now for the hole it created. I would prefer to get a larger one fitted but not sure where you would get one with the smooth rod bit before the thread, as in the thread doesn't go all the way to the screw head . (I hope that bit makes sense without a photo)

The leather goes back down ok on the handle, but obviously not stitched back together .

2005 Grand Scenic 1.9DCi and a 2006 Megane saloon 1.9DCi
