Proper heat will get that nut going. No point wasting any hobby gas. You need concentrated and high temperature heat like from an oxy acetylene set. The alternative is to invest in a good 3/4" socket set. Very handy for slackening off stubborn hub nuts and good for wheel nuts as well, especially those that have been over tightened by certain garages. A 3/4" to 1/2" adaptor comes handy as well.
