Re: Renault Megane - Wheels and Tyres - Best tyres?
I have the 175/65/r14 on steel wheels on both my meganes and usually go for Continental Eco Contact 3's. They are cheap I get them for £46 a piece, they grip well most of the year, but I swap the front tyres for winter tyres between Nov and March. Because otherwise the cars don't cope at all iin snow.
However I've just bought another megane and at 54K it still had its original Michelin Energy savers on it. They were on the legal limit and desperately needed replacing but I was very impressed that they had lasted that long. They had clearly been rotated and the spare was also shot but they all had a 2001 date stamp the car was made.
They are about £60 a piece but lasting that long they are def worth it. I'm lucky to get 20K out of the conti's before I replace when they reach 3mm.
