The 2.0 DCI is better then the 1.9 DCI but 1.9 DCI fine if its been well maintained. Make sure you change the oil and filters every 9,000 miles or once a year, ignore renaults 18k oil changes and use good quality oil , also don't forget to simmer the turbo . Hope this helps.
Thanks very much for that. I ideally would like the 2.0dci as its a cam chain but I have a budget to stick to .
I must admit I have had a few high mileage cars (I bought a 1.8 escort Diesel (non turbo ) with 70K on and I did 140K in 3 years). So I a not to bothered about high mileage as long as it has been serviced well. I haven't looked at many CC's so haven't a clue how the interior/exterior wears. I would happily consider the 1.5dci as its not a sporty car and we really dont do many miles each year.

Your recommendation of 9K oil changes is a good one. Synthetic oil is really a must for turbo diesels. Dont even consider 'semi synthetic' above all look for a synthetic oil that meets the required specification for the car at the cheapest price. I used to work in an Oil Test Centre and I know how the oil companies blend oils to pass the tests. So get the cheapest synthetic that meets the spec and change at 9K.
