If your service interval is 18K, then change the oil half way between each service (9K) too. Be sure to use the correct grade.

As for the gearbox, I've had two fail so far. One was almost certainly due to low oil, and I suspect the other one was too. Take any oil stains on your path seriously - it might just be a small drip from the engine, but it could also be the gearbox slowly emptying itself. Be aware that there's a special filling procedure for the 6 speed box on the dCi. If you fill to the conventional 'until it runs out of the hole' method, you'll overfill the box and damage it.

Can you fill the gearbox on the ide unit until it spills out a little or is this the same will i damage it .
