Hi Saabguy, thanks for the response. I had actually thought of this & though I don't do massive mileages per annum as in I use the car every day, when I do use it, it tends to be for long distances. I won't be using it for popping to the shops for instance as I prefer to walk there with the dog, but we have family that live a couple of hours drive away and friends in a few different parts of the country. Plus although I've now retired I still drive fair distances on occasssion on a kind of part time basis. I've had a few diesels (2 Xantias and a Daihastu 4Track) always liked them, they were bought for towing a caravan though.

It's just that I'm not very conversant with Renaults - not sure what little peccadilloes they have etc! Like I say, I'd made my mind up on buying a Fiesta Zetec S until I spied the Clio, and the low road tax and high mpg does appeal.
