Most alarms allow themselves 30 second to a minute to stabilise before arming the ultrasonic sensors. Are you giving it enough time?

The best way to test is to lock the car with one of the windows open. Return to the car after a few minutes and put your arm through the window. This should trigger the ultrasonic detection and set off the alarm.

If the lights then do four flashes when you unlock, you've probably hit the jackpot. I'm pretty sure my phase 2's alarm beeps four times if the ultrasonic has been set off (from repeated experience of loading the little 'un in the car, walking back inside to get something, and the hands-free locking kicking in.)

I'd go out and check for you, but I've still got this poxy Astra loan car Oh well, at least I don't have to get my own car mucky doing the tip run
