Faulty Alarm

Tried to get the Ultrasonic sensors to operate but to no avail. Can see the little blighters on the back quaterlights ok, waited several minutes stuck my head and arm through an open rear window with doors locked, but no alarm triggered. Perhaps they have been disabled before I picked up this motor.
Rang up a local dealer to get some advice (useless). Suggest I book the car in, but unable to see for 2 weeks. Taking it to a dealer, might as well as give them a blank check as alarm sometimes dosn't go off for several hours. Can envisage changing one sensor after another!!!!!
