The suspension and braking sytems for the 172 or 182 are entirely different than the bog standard Clio - even the wheel base is different. So by fitting a bog standard rear axle it very unlikely to match whatever mods K-tec are likely to make. Apart form changing the axle it woulld also involve changing break cables, brake pipes, master cylinder, plus altering the ABS system to suit, etc, etc, Further still both the 172 and 182 are each around 50 Kg lighter so what plans do you have to match that aspect.
As I'm sure the K-tec conversion wouldn't be cheap it's hardly worth not doing the job corrrectly so you have a balanced and safe set-up.
As a matter of interest how much more will the insurance premiums going to be once the mods are complete.
