Cool Re: Renault - Clio - Starting Problems - A solution???

Hi all ,

The most common starting faults for Renault Clios are:

Faulty transponder chip in the key - Immobiliser light on dash flashes fast with ignition on - Have your key tested - pre 2001 can be copied, post 2001 Clio phase 2 can't be copied and needs new key fob.

Faulty crankshaft position sensor - Engine turns over and does not fire, can also be worse with either hot or cold engine - Have the rpm output signal tested or just replace the CKP (crankshaft sensor).

Faulty/rotted out ECU battery feed wiring - Engine turns over and does not fire - Requires competent person to examine and test wiring.

There are plenty of other reasons but these are the most common problems, hope this helps.
