Re: paint work
When my old Scenic was 5 years old it had lots of pin ***** rust spots on the rear wheel arches.
It had always had the Renault corrosion checks done, but when I went back to them about the arches, they did a micrometer test and declared that the paint thickness was 'beyond Renault spec' and wouldn't do anything about it, even though it was obviously coming through from under the paint.
They said it must be stone chips that had been resprayed before, although there was no evidence of overspray. I argued and even wrote to Renault. They said it was up to their agents to make the final decision.
After that, I noticed that virtually every silver V plate Scenic had exactly the same thing, some worse.
It will only get worse and cost more money, so get it sorted, but don't rely on any support from Renault.
