Re: MOT in 2011

Hmm, interesting. Can't see how they could realistically enforce anything but the Airbag one! The following are just my opinions and are based on no real knowledge;

HID Kits - My car has HID's from the factory (not Xenons) and I don't have lamp washers!

ECU Chipped - How can they possibly fail a car for having a remap? For instance, I shall be remapping mine at some point in the future as it's mapped from the factory to run on 100+ RON which is not available in this country, therefore a map for my car is essential for the car to be efficient, economical and spitting out as low emissions as possible!

Others may need a remap to account for aftermarket performance enhancements which will also have the same effect as I have mentioned. Without the map then the car could in theory fail an MOT on the emissions!

Wiring harness - are they gonna take the car apart to see all the harness then?

EDIT: IS a chipped ECU different from a remapped ECU ?

Currently in scatz's garage:
2004 Subaru Legacy GT Spec B, a 2013 2.0 TDCi Titanium X Sport S-Max and a 2001 Honda NSR125R
