Laguna 2 have i dropped a clanger?

Hi All,

Just a bit about myself, I have owned various cars over 30 years, but I have never owned a Renault, I have recently picked up a Laguna 2 1.8 petrol, after much deliberation due to reading quite a few horror stories about these cars in terms of reliability and dodgy electrics, I took the plunge, and at the moment I'm wondering what all the fuss is about.
My previous car was a low mileage freelander TD4, and over 3 years cost me over 2600 in bills. The reviews on the freelander did tend to sway my decision, therefore this time I decided to ignore them. So far I'm glad I did, the car runs smooth, quiet, drives without any faults whatsoever, Purchased it from a garage with a warranty for just over 2k with 45k on the clock, So would be interested in your comments....Have I bought a Clanger? ..Fingers crossed ....Ill avoid the puddles
Currently in wrenno's garage:
2003 1.8 Dynamique Laguna, 1973 MGB GT
