That's very true Dave, if you look on most forums no matter how good the car is reputed to be, the main content seems to deal with problems. The reason I gave the diesel a miss was the cost of the dual mass flywheel, I'm assuming the Renault Laguna is just as expensive as any other manufacturer. Interestingly I tried a couple of 03 Mondeos but both had noises from the rear - suspension and bearings, Did like the solid drive though.
