This is my first post, so please bear with me if details are a bit lacking...
I have very recently bought a 2002 (52 plate) Laguna II Initiale 2.2DCi with 48k miles on the clock and have noticed that it produces a fair amount of smoke from the exhaust under hard acceleration. Under 'normal' conditions it appears fine, and performance generally seems very good. This is my first diesel car, purchased after having had four years' excellent service from a 2000 Laguna 1.8 Sport.
Having read the numerous threads regarding
problems, I am seeking advice on what do to now. Should I have my garage clean or replace the
valve and change the
for a good quality synthetic
? Would this be enough to ward of potential problems or is it likely that the
is already in trouble?
The car was purchased from an independent (non-Renault) dealer, so if there are issues am I likely to have any recourse from Renault themselves?
Any thoughts, comments and suggestions would be gratefully received. Please let me know if any further info is needed.
