Possibly a related problem in a 2004 Scenic II:
When I open the boot I get water pouring out of the latch mechanism opening. When it went below freezing outside, the mechanism froze solid because of the water and the boot wouldn't close.
No water appears to be getting in to the spare wheel well.
I've read through all the long threads about water ingress but didn't find a similar post.
Has anyone encountered this before?
I'll open the trim and see if there's anything obvious in there, and post back if I find the source of the problem.
By the way, Renault owners should be happy with their water problems. A friend recently bought an 8 year old Landrover Discovery and had water coming in from about 7 places. He's spent 3 weekends on it so far and still hasn't sorted everything...
