If you can get it to play up whilst the car is in your drive at home,when it doesn't start see if you have a spark and fuel pressure.(If you don't know how to do either of these,get back to us).This will narrow the field down substantailly and we can go from there.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
