Renault seemed to have ironed out most of the common failings with the Lag II for the 2004 models onwards.
As said before you get good and bad with any make/model etc.
I can also vouch for our 2004 Lag II 1.9dci we had if for 4 yrs 50k odd miles and only fault was a window regulator replaced foc under warranty.
As scatz says there are far too many Laguna II's on the road for them all to be bad. Forums always attract people with faults/problems asking for advice, whereas very few come on just to say how good their car is.
