Cycle Carrier for Grand Scenic (60 Plate)

I'd appreciate any advice on cycle carriers for a Grand Scenic (60 Plate).

I actually currently own a Halfords Advanced Rear High Mount 3-Cycle Carrier, which I've used on the tailgate of a now deceased Citroen Picasso. However the advice on the Halfords site and store for the same carrier on a Grand Scenic is slightly confusing. If I understand right, then either there's no chassis point (?) or possibly the Scenic tailgate is not strong enough to support this type of carrier.

So - is this correct? And if so, can anyone tell me my options. I don't really want to buy / fit a towbar as this would be the only purpose - we are NOT caravanners. Roof bars - maybe, but I expect it would be awkward to lift three bikes that high. Is there a tailgate carrier which fits the Grand Scenic? I presume that Renault would suggest something (I will ask them), but perhaps be a bit more expensive than other ideas.
