I got into my car, started the engine, nothing unusual, tried to reverse off the drive amd the backside of the car decided to rise. almost as if i left the hand brake on.
i noticed the NS wheel was locked solid, I asked my step brother to smack the wheel nuts with a hammer to release the stuck shoes, no luck.
I then put the brakes under pressure by trying to pull away in reverse while hitting the nuts. This worked fine and got the wheel spinning.
The car drove normally but pulled slightly to the left and with a plume of smoke from that wheel, so i returned home with a car that smells like burning.
Is it possible my rear brake shoes are stuck to the drum but still allows spinning?
after the wheel was free'd, i notice the handbrake had to bu pulled up about 8 clicks, when 3 clicks are normally adequate to hold it on my drive and slopes. As i drove about a mile, it took 4 clicks then? what the hell is going on! possesed clio!
any replies are appreciated and especially quick ones!
