They want £145 for a Lambda sensor
Tell them to get the other work finished and buy a Lambda sensor yourself online for around £30-50. They are relatively simple to fit your self also, just need unscrewing from the exhaust and the electrical connection unclipping. If you buy a marque specific part then refitting is exactly the reverse of removal!
were faulty in the first place then it's quite possible over time that unspent fuel passing through the exhaust has knackered the sensor.....not to say that that is most definitely your problem though! Modern cars and their sensors for this and that eh, it can be a very frustrating and expensive cure sometimes!
